Mark joined BGF in May 2016 as Legal Counsel. Mark provides legal support across all the BGF offices supporting deal execution and BGF’s community of legal advisors.
Mark has over 8 years of experience as a corporate lawyer in the Midlands covering general M & A and advising on growth capital and private equity transactions for investment houses, management and other funders.
Prior to joining the legal profession Mark worked for Pepsico UK in an operational role and before that served as an Army Officer in the Royal Regiment of Fusiliers for 7 years following completion of a BA (Hons) in Economics at Leeds University.
Diana Noble brings extensive experience in private equity, venture capital and international development to the BGF Board, which she joined in July 2016. She is currently Chief Executive of CDC, the UK’s development finance institution, managing net assets of £3.4bn. Established in 1948, CDC provides investment capital to fund growth in ambitious and promising businesses throughout Africa and South Asia.
Diana was a partner at Schroder Ventures (now Permira) for 12 years, founder CEO of e-Ventures and founder Managing Director of Reed Elsevier Ventures. Diana joined CDC after five years with the Clinton Foundation’s Health Access Initiative, where she took a number of roles, including Executive Vice President Operations. In this role, she was responsible for forty three countries and five global teams and oversaw the scale-up of a global programme to improve children’s access to HIV/AIDS treatment.
Diana has a first class Law degree and completed the Advanced Management Program at Harvard Business School.
Ben joined BGF in May 2011 as part of the Finance team, which is based in Birmingham. He is responsible for financial reporting, budgeting, accounting for investments and operating activities.
Prior to joining BGF Ben held finance positions within the vehicle leasing industry, gaining his ACCA accounting qualification whilst at Lombard Vehicle Management and then spending 3 years as a finance manager at Masterlease Ltd. Outside of work Ben enjoys spending time with his family, and is a keen sportsman playing football and golf as often as possible.

Joshua joined BGF in July 2016 as part of the Direct Origination team, working within London and the South East to drive the quantity of off-market investments made via direct channels.
Joshua joined from New York based Prospect Capital Management where he worked as a Business Development Associate and was responsible for originating and analysing middle market debt and equity investment opportunities. Prior to this he was a Marketing Assistant for online sports betting firm BetVictor, based in Gibraltar.
Joshua has a BA in Business Studies from Plymouth University.

Alice Avis joined the board of BGF in April 2016 and brings a wealth of marketing, e-commerce and executive experience.
During her time as Chief Executive and Chair at The Sanctuary Spa, Alice oversaw a trebling of the business’s value and its sale to PZ Cussons. Most recently she served as Executive Chairman for Lumene Oy, a Finnish skincare and cosmetics company. She is currently a Non-Executive Director at The Edrington Group, a privately-owned international spirits company, and Cyden Limited, a British beauty and health company, as well as serving as an advisor to the National Trust.
Alice’s experience includes stints as Director of Marketing and e-Commerce at Marks and Spencer, and as Global Brand Director at Johnnie Walker. In 2009 she was awarded an MBE for services to the beauty industry.
Will joined BGF in May 2016 and is responsible for sourcing and completing investments in the Midlands. Before joining BGF, Will was a manager in the transaction services team at PwC providing due diligence to a variety of buyers, sellers and refinancers.
Will was part of the ‘Flying Start’ collaboration programme between Newcastle University, PwC and the ICAEW, which resulted in a BA (honours) degree in Accounting and Finance and ACA qualification in 2011.
Outside of work, Will is a keen sportsman, playing football and golf, whilst holding a season-ticket at Sunderland.
