Hugh joined BGF in early 2017 and is based in the London office, responsible for sourcing and completing new investments throughout London and the South East.
Hugh began his career in management consulting at Oliver Wyman Group in London and New York before moving into investment roles at CDC, Octopus Investments and Livingbridge.
Hugh has a first class degree in economics from the University of St Andrews and masters from Cambridge University. He is a CFA charterholder.
Laura joined BGF in May 2017 to focus on direct origination across the South of England. Laura has more than 15 years of investment experience, including six years as a director in Royal Bank of Scotland’s special opportunities fund and has held positions with HBOS Joint Ventures, CIT Group Partners and HM Treasury, where she worked as a policy adviser. Laura joined from Knight Corporate Finance, where she advised businesses and entrepreneurs on a range of transactions including fundraising, trade sales and institutional investments. Working alongside the management teams, she has held board seats at a number of growing companies.
In her new role, Laura is based in Sussex and is be responsible for identifying investment opportunities with a focus on Sussex, Kent and Surrey.

Michelle joined BGF in August 2016 as part of the London and South East Investment Team.
Prior to this, she worked in Investment Banking at Goldman Sachs, as part of their Leveraged Finance Team, covering LBOs, M&A deals, refinancings and recapitalisations in the Tech, Media and Telecom (TMT), Financial Institutions and Leisure sectors. She was also part of The New Entrepreneurs Foundation Class of 2017.
Michelle holds a 1st class MA in French and English Literature from The University of Edinburgh, with a year spent studying at The Sorbonne in Paris.

Keith joined BGF in November 2015 and is based in the Aberdeen office. He covers the north of Scotland from Dundee to Inverness and beyond. Keith’s responsibilities include deal origination and transacting together with providing support to existing portfolio companies.
Prior to joining BGF, Keith was an Investment Manager at Souter Investments where he worked on transactions primarily in the transport sector.
Keith trained and qualified as a solicitor at Shepherd and Wedderburn and has an LLB honours degree and Diploma in Legal Practice from the University of Aberdeen.
James joined BGF’s South West team in 2017 and is based in the Bristol office.
Before joining BGF James spent five years at EY in the corporate finance team where he advised on a number of transactions including the sale of IPL to Civica and the acquisition of Transtank Pty by Western Global.
James is responsible for identifying investment opportunities in the South West and managing the deal process from origination through to completion.

Kevin is Chairman, Corporate Banking and Vice-Chairman, Investment Banking at Barclays.
Kevin joined Barclays as a graduate and has held client and product leadership roles in corporate and investment banking as well as roles in strategic planning and human resources. He has worked in the U.S., Australia, Hong Kong and Singapore as well as the UK. His current role is largely client focused in the UK, Ireland and Asia-Pacific.
Kevin is a non-executive director of Which? Ltd. and a trustee director of the Barclays pension fund.
Kevin graduated with a BSc (Hons) in Accounting & Financial Analysis from Warwick University.
