In conjunction with BGF and RBS, Martin Avison, Head of Financial Channels at Pera Technology is hosting a breakfast seminar addressing the  topic of ‘The Funding Landscape for Manufacturing Businesses’.

This event will give you the opportunity to hear from three key speakers:

Martin Avison, Head of Financial Channels at Pera Technology will discuss innovation grant funding while Patrick Graham, Investment Manager at Business Growth Fund, will discuss equity funding for growth. Jim McIntyre, Regional Director, Corporate Coverage for West Scotland for the Royal Bank of Scotland plc, will discuss debt funding.

Speaker biographies:

Martin Avison

Pera Technology’s head of financial channels, Martin Avison has raised £m’s in grant, debt and equity funding for manufacturing, technology and high growth businesses. He is a member of the British Venture Capital Association (BVCA), sits on the technical committee for the British Business Angel Association (BBAA), chairs the meetings for both the Innovation and High Growth funds for the Princes Scottish Youth Business Trust (PSYBT) and possesses an MBA from the University of Edinburgh, his dissertation being on the commercialisation of equity backed businesses.

Patrick Graham

Patrick joined the BGF in early 2012 and has over 10 years’ of experience in the investment and corporate finance sector. Prior to joining the BGF, Patrick workedfor six years in Venture Capital as Director of the Investment Team at Sigma Capital Group.

Patrick has particular expertise in the investment transaction process from the early stages of evaluation
through to due diligence and deal structuring and is experienced in the sourcing and review of investment proposals. Previously, Patrick spent four years at Deloitte & Touche, qualifying as a Chartered Accountant and working in the Financial Services team as well as the Corporate Finance department specialising in SMEs. Patrick has an honours degree in Law from Edinburgh University.

Jim Mcintyre

Jim was appointed Regional Director, Corporate Coverage,West of Scotland in 2005. He leads the team that manages relationships for businesses with turnover of over £25m, across a range of industry sectors. Jim joined RBS in 2002 and has carried out roles in business development and relationship management prior to his appointment as regional director. Jim started his career working for Clydesdale Bank (National Australia Bank Group) in Scotland where his roles covered all areas of corporate banking including acquisitionfinance and credit controller.
