Speaker biographies:
Pera Technology’s head of financial channels, Martin Avison has raised £m’s in grant, debt and equity funding for manufacturing, technology and high growth businesses. He is a member of the British Venture Capital Association (BVCA), sits on the technical committee for the British Business Angel Association (BBAA), chairs the meetings for both the Innovation and High Growth funds for the Princes Scottish Youth Business Trust (PSYBT) and possesses an MBA from the University of Edinburgh, his dissertation being on the commercialisation of equity backed businesses.
David joined the Business Growth Fund in February 2012 and is based in Manchester. He has 13 years’ of investment experience with 3i covering the north of England, and was most recently responsible for the Manchester office. During this time he was involved in many different types and sizes of investment and board roles across a variety of sectors. Prior to 3i, David spent three years in PwC corporate finance predominately advising owner managers of businesses. David is a chartered accountant and holds a first class accounting and finance degree from Liverpool John Moores University. He is married with five children and lives near Manchester.
Dan is Managing Director of debt finance at Barclays Corporate. He is responsible for all corporate debt origination in the UK and Ireland. A member of the overall product executive for Barclays Corporate. Dan joined barclays in 1996 and has worked in a number of roles within corporate Banking including leading the structured finance credit team and previously as a director in project finance, as well as in relationship banking roles in the UK and overseas. Dan read mathematics at oxford and holds an mba from Chicago Booth.
