Investment Associate
We are currently recruiting across the UK for motivated and focused individuals to contribute to the overall investment activity for Business Growth Fund as our investment opportunities increase.
We want to hear from investment banking professionals and newly qualified ACAs that have a genuine passion for business, and for established and growing enterprises. To be successful in our organisation you will have relevant experience gained in corporate finance, transactional support, private equity, venture or growth capital combined with an outstanding academic record and a high level of energy and achievement.
Your broad commercial experience, modelling and analysis skills and the ability to form structured and logical opinions will provide you with the platform for your success as you work with the best investment professionals in the industry. You will be rewarded with a work environment that encourages and nurtures an entrepreneurial spirit in a fun and collaborative start up environment.
Your input will be crucial to the overall investment process and activities of the BGF, as you will be supporting the evaluation process for new investment applications, monitoring of existing investments and providing general support to the activity of senior investment team members.
Required skills and experience:
- Strong record of academic achievement, with a minimum of a 2:1 degree from a leading University or business school
- Investment banking analyst or newly qualified ACA with proven experience in corporate finance, private equity, valuation and/or transaction support
- Strong analytical skills, both quantitative and qualitative with strong financial modelling skills
- Commercially astute with the ability to exercise strong judgement and solid business acumen
- The ability to present ideas and information clearly, logically and succinctly both written and verbally
- Knowledge of the Private Equity Markets with buy or sell side deal support experience an advantage; and
- Confident and outgoing with strong relationship building skills
Investment Intern (3 months)
We are looking for a motivated individual to provide internship support to Business Growth Fund. You will have the opportunity to become part of the investment team for three months and assist in a range of activities including reviewing business applications, financial modelling, commercial analysis and deal completion.
The role will include sector research, financial analysis and assisting in report writing. Some general coordination and administration duties will also be involved.
Required skills and experience:
- Strong academic record with a, preferably finance-related, degree from a leading University or Business School at minimum 2.1 level. If you do not yet hold a degree, you must have demonstrated grades to support this level of achievement.
- Work experience in a corporate financial environment is highly desirable.
- A keen interest in transaction work and an understanding of the investment and private equity market
- Strong analytical skills and an ability to comprehend financial models
- General commercial and business acumen, and an awareness of business environment and small-medium size business issues
- Confident individual and a team player
